Concept art for Injustice Gods Among Us
Oh why do I get the obscure. Well I do like the challenge. The Flash was based a concept art piece of the Flash Prime. Now just in case you did not understand - a concept art. One piece of reference is all I had. The head was made from two types of material due to the complexity vs a child playability. The face was carefully laid out according g to my sons head and ha ability to wear his glasses. The glasses was a chore to work around but I did it. As soon as the basic shape was done I started to lay out the decorative parts. The face was made solely from Foamies glued together and finished with spray on Plasti-dip in red. This covers a lot of imperfections and allows flexibility while wearing. The back side was a hood made from the same material as the jumpsuit and assembled by gluing to the face
The Flash's undersuit or jumpsuit was made similar to full coveralls zippering up the front. I found a pattern that match the size of my son and carefully cut and sewn the pieces. I had Cody try this on a few times at the beginning to make sure I accurately have the right size. next was making cuffs and fixing seam lines. I added a hidden zipper from the naval to the throat section. I next had him do a final fitting and found out he grew a little excessively so I added a bit to the ankle range. The design was applied using Dritz High Intensity Iron-On Reflective Tape and obviously an iron. I tried my best due to the lack of images to go by. Now in a dark room the littlest light reflects brightly.

The armor parts for the Flash is made from multiple layers of Foamies glue together unless otherwise stated. The otherwise would be the chest and black piece which has pvc plastic sheet, heated and rounded in between the inner and outer layers. I added the connection straps which were made from in expensive tie down straps prior to sandwiching. I had to take liberties on the back and tried to keep to the concept art as much as possible and match the motif of the front. Thinking ahead a bit I wanted the shoulder armor to be magnetic on the front and glued on the back. if the shoulders were glue both sides the armor would not fit over Cody's head. With one side magnetic allowed the armor to slid in easily, once on, close magnetically. I laid out the location of the magnet on the chest piece and dished out the top layer of the multiple layers and glue in place. When the pieces were finished I painted it with spray on red plasti-dip paint. The plastic dip helped with the magnet staying in place. The emblem is sticky backed vinyl printed from a inkjet printer and a little extra glue to keep it suck. When everything was done I finished the project with sewing buckles and shoulder straps. The shoulders are done the same way without any reinforcing plastic just straight Foamies with Plasti-dip. Once again took a few liberties but tried to stay with the art. Note - neodymium magnets have ultra smooth finish and the glue has nothing to adhere to. Problem solved with a heavy grit sand paper scratching up the surfacesThe armor parts for the Flash is made from multiple layers of Foamies glue together unless otherwise stated. The forearms and shins were built similar to the shoulders and once again tried to stay true the original art. Painted with Plasti-dip and hand painted the line work. I did go through a few fittings to make them fit accurately. The shin guards have two sets of elastic straps sandwiched in between the Foamies each shin
The gloves were a total WTF but when I figured it out they easy. I found nothing close so I decided to go with Motorcross Dirt Bike Full Finger Riding gloves just for the unique design. Simply finished with multiple layers of spray Plasti-dip for the rugged and flexibility. With enough to block the original colors
