Why did we do this costume:

Cody always has been a fan of speedsters, Marvel or DC, he loves them all. His sister decided she wanted a Black Widow so he was a good sport and agreed to do this costume. I also want to make a cost effective costume instead of pumping all kinds of money into it.

Build progress:

The shirt was made by me through dye sub-limitation process. This is where you design a shirt, pants, a whole suit or custom fabric in a program like Photoshop and have it printed. Got the fabric and cut it then sewn it together. The pants are off the shelf light weight sweat pants that is marked as slime fit. I then hand painted the design on with fabric paint using a bunch of reference photos. The sneakers are the actual brand but not the color. Had to paint the sneakers up the gray base and hand painted the neon green. Sounds easy so far for the costume? Took me 4 months to complete. With all the paint work had to wait to dry and recoat. I took two wigs and bashed them together. One wig I cut and styled and noticed the back and sides were extremely thin so I ordered another wig and pulled out wafts to fill in. The back was dyed brown with sharpies and rubbing alcohol.

After thoughts:

I don't want to keep saying I have no after thoughts which gives a perfect-esk impression, Far from it. This costume though is a extremely close rendition to the source material. Maybe go with a reflective iron-on markings instead of paints maybe. This was probably his most comfortable costume yet.
