Robin

Arkham City

Starting from top to bottom. The domino mask is made from layered liquid latex. I originally laid out the design directly on my face with standard black costume makeup. I applied 6 layers latex when dried I carefully dusted the latex and peeled it off my face. Fortunately I have a face mold down so I stuck the mask down and applied a few more layers of latex and from there I cut the design out. Thinking future adjustments I might make the mask out of leather.

The cape is a standard hooded cape made from a double layer of satin material. I carefully paid attention to the length of the cape. I have seen other Arkham City robin costumes that bring the cape way down. The clasp is a off the shelf large clothing hook closure.

The vest is a standard shirt pattern modified to accommodate a zipper. The base vest outer material  Padded Foam Mesh Fabric with a black cotton inner liner. The straps are made from the similar mesh material glued to craft foam. The straps along with the simulated armor plates are all sewn onto the vest. Some reference photos show there is a triangular piece near the neck. This piece was sewn on one side and snaps on the other for easy wearing and removal. the belt is directly attached to the vest with canvas straps. the base material of the belt is made from black mesh strapping with a Velcro closure. The buckle and boxes are strictly used for show and are no usable. Simply painted gold color with Flex Seal coating.

The pants are standard off the shelf tactical paints with some of the pockets removed and a strip of material (same as the vest) attached to either side of the legs.

The forearm and shin armor are made similarly using foam floor pads heated and rounded. the straps were simply glue to the  foam with E6000. I painted the guard with silver paint and dry brushed black paint all sealed together with Flex Seal clear. I made sleeves for under the forearm armor to keep from chaffing.

The gloves are standard paintball gloves heavily modified to match the reference photos and painted like the armor pieces on the armored plates. The boots are painted pirate's boots. The staff is made from PVC pipes and painted silver and black
