Superboy Kon-El (New 52)

Why did we do this costume:

                   Superboy straight outta cloning vat. With the relaunch of the DC comics new 52 came a brand new Superboy or Kon-El. He is a clone ...of Superman, Lois and unknown. I wanted a quick comfortable suit Cody could get into and wear for a while. Well here it is.

Build progress:

                   Started with a base morph suit and glued in aqua shoe soles like the Scarlet Spider. I then carefully laid out the design in sections with chalk them masked of with painters tape. Over a week I carefully airbrushed the red design. I wanted a thicker paint so I used a hair dryer at the same time as spraying to build the coats up. After I say a dozen appearances and Cody balling it up in a bag the paint held up minus a few areas it started cracking but nothing major. We went with a pair of armored knuckles fingerless gloves.

After thoughts:

​                   If I would do this over I think I would design this suit around a Dye Sub process but that was not the goal. The goal was to make a great budget costume. This suit is also roomy enough to wear thermals underneath like he did for the Christmas parade in Manchester NH
