​God of Gods - The Darkseid War

Why did we do this costume:

           This was another of those rare character iterations that if you blink you miss it. Cody has regularly been a Flash fan and while viewing this series I stumbled across the God of Death. It happened to be Flash and well naturally Cody stated this was our official costume 2017. Plus, it was a DC year for  us. I wished to make a Shazam costume, so I touched upon numerous targets 

Build progress:

​           ​I started out with creating the under suit out of lycra through the method called sublimation. Where you design your costume pattern and have it reprinted on fabric. I laid out the arrangement from the comic illustrations and the final product were tailored by me. The cape  was prepared  from a satin crepe fabric, not wishing anything to heavy and but flowed. The trim were prepared from iron- on transfer in which I made from actual comic images. I went with an old pair of boots, layered and painted them gold with red inlets cut out. The under gauntlets or sleeves were made from golden fabric  pleated to look like metal bands. I likewise composed gauntlets out of foam and colored gold. After a decisive review I went with a sash to aid with the ....mmm....dad bod

After thoughts:

            I enjoyed the build and challenge accompanied with the varied fabric options. I, personally, am in way in shape to wear lycra but my son chose the theme and naturally I will do everything for my children. The sash did help a bit (along with the compression jersey)
